29th October - Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes

Image
Wiggle of the hips! Bon voyage Skov’s

28th October - Charlotte

Image
I have a sugar headache so I don’t know how all the children are dealing. But all the cheese was great too.

27th October - Slices

Image
Drinking and baking, seems like an excellent combination of things.

26th October - Not Moving Yet

Image
Although I do want to dig up some of these plants so I have more useable outdoor space I’m sure I won’t get there for ages so it’s nice having plants and flowers in the meantime.

25th October - Beersies

Image
Was meant to take a photo at the after hockeydrinks but  forgot naturally.

24th October - Same Same but Different

Image
Third strapping combo type, don’t know if it’s helping but slowly and surely otherwise.

23rd October - Organised Chaos

Image
Whoops it’s a last minute photo day, yet another thing in my room to be sorted out.

22nd October - Memories

Image
Can’t even use the VHS and the music I’m sure I have it all on my phone and laptop anyway but it’s not quite the same without the commentary.

21st October - Hot Potato

Image
Long weekends really are the best, there should definitely be more of them in the year. Dessert and dinner night so I could really test my kitchen out, pretty happy with the results. Very impressed with my brandy snaps which I don’t think I’ve really done successfully before.  Also thankfully and I didn’t dream of the wiggles and their shaking hips and creepy smiles 👍🏻

20th October - Multicultural

Image
Auckland really is full of contrasts, from taking 20mins to inch 200m to get out of Otahuhu because it had turned into Tonga for the week. Then to East Auckland for the hockey, much more leisurely crowd for this international game, which Canada managed to take away. Then into Central for Diwali and people everywhere eating and dancing. Train ride home where they’d turned it into a ghost town by blocking off all the roads, not even telling the bus driver how to get through.

19th October - Slow Day

Image
I’m sure more interesting things must have happened but also probably not. So it’s last minute photo time.

18th October - Spring Evening

Image
It would be way nicer to be able to play as it was still quite chilly sitting on the sidelines even though there was no wind. Also Happy Birthday Charlotte even though they’re in Rarotonga so it technically wasn’t even her birthday there yet.

17th October - Tonga

Image
Good thing I don’t need to get anywhere in a hurry cos traffic is slow and filled with cars with flags.

16th October - Trialling

Image
Testing positions before going to the effort of hanging anything.

(Backup) 15th October - American Spread

Image
It’s was pretty yellow and sugary overall but that’s what you get with USA as a theme it seems. Also. Root Beer is horrendous.

14th October - Authenticity

Image
The plan was to make a Key Lime Pie but it’ll end up more a key lime lemon meringue hybrid but I did make the trip to the American store to get some Graham crackers for the crust.

13th October - Mr JLC

Image
Thanks so much for giving us a giant park, it is quite lovely.

12th October - New Standards

Image
So it appears flowers and champagne are a must at all mini housewarmings.

11th October - Prevention and Recovery

Image
Who knows if either the tape or the ice is helping but I’ll try anything.

10th October - That Didn’t Take Long

Image
It’s a different ceiling and hopefully the last time I’ll need to resort to this . . . It does seem ridiculous to have not just the lights but the smoke detector, sprinkler and what I think must be the alarm speaker, but suppose I’ll be thankful should it ever need to be used.

9th October - View Point

Image
While hating on the bike, can stare down at the water.

8th October - The Situation

Image
This is maybe a third of the stuff. What to do with it all!

7th October - Warming to the Housewarming

Image
Visitors to the hood came with excellent gifts.

6th October - Markets

Image
Getting amongst it a bit today. Or avoiding being inside and looking at all the stuff I have to sort. Otara markets are quite overwhelming, there’s just so much choice, how to decide who has the best stuff! I also walked a bit of the Otahuhu streets and people really do get into the Polynesian clothing stores. Also a large number of barbers.

5th October - Work Life

Image
Thought I hadn’t taken a photo. Realised I had and it was terrible but couldn’t be bothered taking another so this is what you get.

4th October - Sparse

Image
The contents of my fridge need some serious additions. The coke was a new addition but my worker was around again this afternoon vacuuming and tidying and sent my dad off for it and then bemoaned my lack of run to have with it.

3rd October - Success

Image
Most stuff moved, things shoved away most any old where for now. I’m not going to be able to find anything for awhile. Employed my mum as blind putter upper, box and bubble wrap tidier and general unpacker. She’s in a good union though as she wouldn’t would without lunch break, beer breaks and a break to make me pose for this photo.

2nd October - Home!

Image
The first official turning of the keys. Now goal to be unpacked before the end of the year . . .

1st October - Heavy Load

Image
The first load of stuff and Megan I don’t know how you did it! My car is going to heavy driving into work tomorrow, but in the evening I’ll be able to do the first lot of unpacking!

30th September - “Last” Walk

Image
Not really my last up here but the last when it’ll be convenient from home :(
